All of those new faces and a dousing with cold water warrant some pretty great christening gifts.
You'll find all manner of snuggly, quirky and so-cleverly-adorable christening presents in these pages, whether you're after christening gifts for boys, christening gifts for girls, or gender-neutral options their parents will love every bit as they do.
Celebrating a baptism or naming day is a very special occasion, and finding the right gift for such events can be difficult, so we've put together a collection of both traditional and contemporary christening presents for you to choose from.
To start, check out our selection of beautiful christening jewellery, where you’ll find the loveliest little necklaces and bracelets that are sure to be treasured for many years to come. Personalised jewellery is always a winner, and we recommend a necklace with the baby’s name engraved on the back, or an initial charm that can be added to a larger chain as the baby grows.
Alongside our gorgeous jewellery options, we have darling little keepsake ideas like money boxes, teddy bears and baby blankets which can be personalised with the baby’s name and/or date of birth. You’ll even find a personalised music box, which is probably our top pick from the collection.
We’re also loving personalised artwork as a christening gift idea, and recommend you check out our range of bespoke birth prints, papercut artworks and the fingerprint tree - a brilliant concept that turns your guest’s fingerprints into work of art!
In these pages, you’ll also find traditional silver gift ideas, like silver baby rattles, silver keepsake boxes and silver teaspoons - personalised of course!
One of our favourite christening traditions is the party that follows (of course!). When planning a christening party, choose a colour theme (we like lemon yellow) and plan the event around it. Start with the decorations. We’re going with yellow balloons (it is a party after all!), a crisp white tablecloth on the table and little posies of freshly cut white and yellow flowers. Next comes the menu planning. If your christening party is in the afternoon, a traditional high tea is a winning idea. Freshly-baked scones with jam and cream, dainty little finger sandwiches (chicken with tarragon and smoked salmon with cream cheese), and mini cupcakes with yellow icing is all you need. Most importantly, don’t forget the champagne! Finally, select some theme-appropriate tunes. We’re not suggesting nursery rhymes (!), but some cool jazz will be a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
