Homes: Elle Decor
So Ellen DeGeneres is an obsessive renovator. Who knew? Her latest project is a horse ranch in Hidden Valley, California, that features eight cabins and once belonged to the actor William Powell. “I thought it might take Ellen five years to finish the project,” says her wife Australian actor, Portia De Rossi, “and she did it in one. It was shocking!”

Food: Mulberry and Pomegranate
Much more than just a recipe, this is a lovely post on food and family. Sydney food blogger ‘Mrs Mulberry’ fills a dreary winter Saturday cooking pastitsio with her mother-in-law, ‘Mrs K’. Pastitsio is a traditional celebration dish that comes from Greece’s Ionian Islands – Mrs K’s homeland. “Mrs K learnt to make this dish when she first travelled to Athens in the mid 1950s, as a part of her long journey to her new life in Australia.” Heartwarming and delicious.

Travel: Moda Familia
Moda Familia is a new fashion and culture online magazine targeted at trend-savvy mothers. It’s sophisticated and beautiful – hardly surprising given it’s co-founded by Natasha Inchley, a former Fashion News Director at Vogue.

Fashion: We are so Droeë
If you want to keep up with the world of fashion and fashion magazines this is the place to go. It’s a beautifully curated showcase for images from all over the world sourced from various forums, blogs, magazines, photographers and stylists.

Inspiration: Zen Habits
Zen Habits is like a little rest stop on the information superhighway. I subscribed to Leo Babauta’s emails a couple of months ago and actually make time to read and appreciate each one (he only files once or twice a week). His words are simple and spiritual but practical, and bring momentary calm into what can be a chaotic life. One of my favourites: “Easier Decision-Making: Conduct Experiments.”
