Roma Freestone, affectionately known as Mimi, was a young, fashionable woman living in Sydney during the 1940s, when hats and gloves were the order of the day. Glamorous Mimi, always impeccably accessorised, could not have known that her notorious sense of style would inspire her granddaughter to create a fashion range in her name. In 2006, designer Julia Hill launched her accessories label, mimi, in Sydney. Remembering her beloved grandmother, Julia says, Mimi was a great role model, stylish, sassy, gregarious and fun. She was full of life and seemed to draw confidence from always being properly presented. To Australian women today mimi is known as a brand that celebrates colour whilst always feeling exciting and seriously stylish. Julia says, I want women who wear my accessories to feel confident and happy. It's all about expressing yourself.
mimi is a wonderfully unique, self assured jewellery range, which highlights the fact that a well accessorised look and impeccable styling is never out of date.
