THE COLOUR WATTLESEED

‘Wattleseed’, a native superfood that has nourished Australia’s First Peoples for millennia, is harvested from various species of _Acacia_, of which there are almost one thousand species throughout Australia. Wattleseed plantations are scattered throughout the low areas between our rugged Grampians ranges (Gariwerd), including grassy woodland and the wetter pockets of bush.

For us, wattleseed symbolises patience and resiliency. Wattle seeds need to survive drawn-out periods of dormancy, deep underground, their super hard husks protecting the seeds inside for up to 20 years until they’re able to germinate after bushfires sweep through their home.

Our Wattleseed Antipodean Check Blanket is a balance of muted, grounding light brown, blended with a brilliant shot of gold celebrating the wattle blossom bursting through the region in spring.

What’s more, these blankets are eco-friendly and are made with sustainable practices. Instead of virgin Merino wool fibre; wool offcuts, older blankets and garments are separated into colour groups and then shredded, spun and processed together to make a new, yet recycled yarn. This yarn is then woven into a traditional Scottish tartan recycled wool travel blanket.

Unlike virgin Merino wool, recycled wool rugs are more durable & practical, you can have Australian summer picnics on them or use them at festivals and outdoor events.

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images of our products that appear on our website, however our recycled wool blankets are by nature, made from recycled wool textiles and the colours are subject to change slightly from batch to batch depending on the materials available at the time of production. Finally, we cannot guarantee that your computer or device monitor’s display of any colour will be accurate.

If you order more than one blanket, you will receive the option in checkout to choose for each blanket to be packed in our GGCo. Signature Packaging. This is at a cost of $5.00AUD, per blanket plus shipping charges.

If you don’t require your blankets to be individually boxed, you don’t need to do anything! They will be carefully packed in our beautifully branded eco-friendly packaging and dispatched to you.

1. If you order a SINGLE BLANKET, it comes in our complimentary GGCo. Signature Packaging, beautifully packed in a deluxe box made from recycled materials lined with tissue paper. This is then placed in a HeapsGood eco-mailer to be posted to you. 

2. If you order MORE THAN ONE blanket, you will receive a notification in your cart for you to choose for each blanket to be packed in our GGCo. Signature Packaging. This is at a cost of $5.00AUD per blanket plus shipping.
