17cm x 180cm
Made from surplus Australian & New Zealand lambs wool.
Country of origin:
Proudly designed & created in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia.
A top stitch traditionally used by tailors to finish off a garment. A stitch generally the same colour as the fabric itself enhancing a crisp edge. Occasionally the stitch is done in a contrast colour to be used as a decorative stitch, one that is designed to show.
A lot of our time here is spent closely observing stitches in knitted fabric, whether it be using a magnifying light or squinting in the dimly lit machine room. Observing the stitches can tell us a lot about the knit, its tension, if there is a dropped stitch or a needle in the machine that is broken. As it is so important for us to view the stitches, we thought it would be fun to create a scarf with the stitches enlarged. The Jacquard on this scarf playfully reveals the interlocked knit stitches beneath.
This scarf is ethically made at our little family factory in East Brunswick. Made from surplus Australian lambs wool.
