With a long-standing respect and adoration of the work of Alexander Girard, we thought what better way to honour his works than with a long woolly bouquet of his flowers.
Alexander Girard (also known as Sandro was) a man with many qualifications: interior designer, architect, industrial designer, furniture designer and textile designer. Working for the likes of Herman Miller creating textiles for the famous husband-and-wife couple Charles & Ray Eames.
One project of his that we find particularly interesting was his redesign of Braniff airlines. This mission included redesigning every aspect from in-flight napkins, ticket counters, to plane fuselages. Girard introduced 'The end of the Plain Plane' bringing an eclectic mix of ethnic influences and a bright bold colour pallet.
