SooP creates pieces using authenticated Japanese chiyogami from Kyoto, Japan. We use only the highest quality product available on the market today. The paper is handmade, not mass produced.
The time-consuming nature and man-power needed to produce a single sheet of chiyogami makes it one of the most sought after, and also one of the most beautiful, papers in the world.
The creation of the patterns for chiyogami papers began in the Edo period in (1603 to 1868) and the patterns were used originally for accessories in the house and to enliven the interior.
Lovely, tactile laser cut birch is embellished with silk-screened chiyogami, (fully sealed with a high gloss sealant) and finished with sterling silver posts and backs.
A little different and oh so pretty.
They are 12mm diameter and come packaged in a little gift tin (please note the pattern on the gift tin may change from that shown).
