• About Scoops Design

Scoops Design is the invention of graphic designer and art director Sophie Cooper (S Cooper = Scooper = Scoops). Making brooches initially as presents for her friends and as a way of relaxing from a stressful job TV (Network Art Director), she found herself being repeatedly questioned by strangers about the self-crafted designs pinned to her own lapel.  

So, with brooches in hand, she approached small boutiques around Sydney and Melbourne, who took Scoops to heart and to their display cabinets. With a stall at the 2007 Young Designers Markets at the Powerhouse Museum, Scoops scored column inches in a number of magazines including Frankie, Rush, Cosmopolitan and Yen. She also came to the notice of the folks at the National Gallery of Victoria who commissioned her to make a series of exclusive ranges to sell at major exhibitions such as Salvador Dali (2009) and Rupert Bunny (2010).  Sophie is currently working on a range to celebrate the gallery’s 150th Anniversary.

All of Scoops Designs jewellery is limited edition, hand made and based on characters and an illustrative style that Sophie has developed since early childhood. After 15 years of labouring in the wild, wicked world of broadcast design, Sophie has decided to throw caution to the wind and follow her passion for drawing and love for all things brightly-coloured, full-time.
