Story

A purveyor of fine quality, certified organic skincare, Lily Loves Pearl has built its philosophy around the cycle of the seasons; we create our products by carefully selecting ingredients from the year's finest botanical harvest. We source our ingredients locally wherever possible, and only work with the most conscientious distributors. We prefer to prepare small batches, more often, to retain the efficacy and goodness of the product in the jar. It is crucial to us that our products be friend to the earth and food for the skin. We are therefore passionately devoted to the usage of organic ingredients, and we have been awarded the highest organic certification there is.

Lily Loves Pearl is lovingly made in Australia, based in Daylesford, Victoria, an area known for its breathtaking natural beauty and restorative mineral springs. Inspired by this curative environment (and by the natural skincare products once made by our founder's aunt and grandma, Lily and Pearl), we carefully draw on the best that nature has to offer, while rigorously applying current scientific research into the plant world. We marry our experience, passion, and knowledge to bring you a line of gorgeous organic products that will treat and nourish your skin and hair – gently, thoroughly, daily. 

Philosophy

Organic is not a word we use flippantly. It is a philosophy we believe in, an approach to product creation that brings us peace of mind, and a strict certification whose guidelines we fervently follow. This is not for nothing. Our skin is more absorbent than our stomach lining, so it makes all sense to care about what we are applying and ingesting, putting on and therefore taking in. Happily for us, there are sublime organic ingredients available to us – a great many of them locally – and we take great joy in choosing certified organic contents for our products. 

As the word 'organic' is misused by a shocking number of skincare companies, we have obtained an organic certification at the very highest level available. This means that we adhere to strict national production standards that allow trace-back of all ingredients to their origin, and we undergo yearly audits to retain this certification. We believe strongly in traceability and transparency. Not only do we find synthetic ingredients disagreeable, we believe they are wholly unnecessary. And so we bring you a range of certified organic skin, hair, and body care that you can apply with confidence, enjoyment, and an easy conscience. Now, if only there was a certification for deliciousness!

We believe a bathroom shelf with a handful of well-picked organic products on it is better for your skin – and the environment – than a countertop laden with half-empty, years-old products. We advocate for a simple approach to skincare; all you really need are a few beautiful organic products on hand to keep your skin and hair clean and balanced, nourished and fed.



In The Jar 

Our ingredients are naturally grown in the earth, not chemically concocted in a lab. They are produced and processed without the use of synthetic fertiliser, chemicals, or GMO's. While we would rather talk about the wonderful ingredients that go into our jars, it bears mentioning what we do not put in there. We do not use mineral oils, parabens, petrochemicals, phthalates, silicones, sulphates, synthetic dyasor fragrances, palm oil, artificial preservatives, pesticides, or GMOs. Furthermore, our products are Fair Trade, Certified Organic, vegan, and 100% cruelty free (we are accredited with Beauty Without Cruelty).

Deep consideration has gone into our use of packaging as well. Our cardboard packages and product literature are made using 100% recycled paper. Our amber jars work in protecting the product from light damage, so as to render synthetic preservatives unnecessary. Our airless bottles, used for our moisturising creams and serum, ensure the product is sealed and protected. As you pump, the base rises, preventing the product from being exposed to air. This keeps the contents fresh, maintaining the potency and efficacy of our organic ingredients. It also means that when you're finished, no product remains inside, and nothing goes to waste. All our packaging is recyclable, so you can pop the empties in the recycling bin before re-stocking up on your favourites.
