How to measure your own finger size when don't have a ring to measure.
Take a piece of stiff cardboard, plastic or thick wire and wrap it around the finger then mark the exact spot where the ends join. Please do not use string.
With a ruler measure the length of this piece of cardboard or wire.
Make sure it goes past a knuckle as this is eventually going to happen with the real ring.
Read from the above chart to determine ring size.
How to measure your own finger size when you do have a ring to measure.
If you can get to a jeweller you can do this: Put your partner’s ring on your finger. Pick a finger where the ring fits as close to a normal position as possible. Mark two clear spots, one on either side if the ring. Leave them there and go to a jeweller and tell them you want to find out what size ring goes on your finger where these marks are. That is going to get very close to what you need. Make sure it goes past a knuckle as this is eventually going to happen with the real ring.
* It is highly recommended to have a jeweller size your finger as they will ensure all external factors have been considered during the sizing process.
* Please be aware that your finger shape may change according to weather conditions and your blood pressure level. Some allowance should be made for these changes when estimating ring sizes.
* When measuring your finger please do not use a piece of string as this will bend to the shape of your finger. It is best to use a think piece of cardboard as stated above.
* If comparing your sizing to a ring that has a narrow band, some allowance should be made if the ring your are purchasing is not a narrow band. Which is yes in some cases within this store. Also open rings also will mold to a person's finger as time goes on.
