About Eri & Trudi

Eri lives in Sydney with her three gorgeous kids and extremely patient (and good looking) husband who puts up with late night work-a-thons, constant checking-of-emails and the occasional meltdown. She loves to cook, go for long walks and has dreams of eating and drinking her way through Italy.

Trudi also lives in Sydney, has two beautiful kids, one very supportive (and also good looking) partner and two mad cats (which Eri is allergic to). She moonlights as the Editor-in-chief of delicious and Masterchef magazines and when she’s not juggling a million balls or jet-setting around the world, is partial to a decent cup of tea and a Thai massage.

The story behind

hardtofind. is an Australian shopping website featuring beautifully designed, hand-crafted, unique products — homewares, gorgeous gifts, kids' stuff and accessories — that are not easily sourced elsewhere. As working mothers with little time for shopping beyond the basics, we realised that there was a gap in the online market for a quality website where you could rely on finding only the best available.

Having spent (between us) 35 years working on lifestyle magazines, we know the secrets of the stylists and importers — where to find those irresistible products. And we've brought them all together on hardtofind., with one easy checkout, free shipping and gift wrapping on most products and all purchases dispatched direct to the consumer from the seller.

 No more schlepping all over town or trawling through endless websites to find what you're looking for — hardtofind. is a one-stop shop, whether you're looking for an unusual gift, searching out a special something for yourself, or just wanting to treat your home or your kids to a new look.

How hardtofind. works

hardtofind. is like a gorgeous shopping mall, where you can browse through a number of smaller boutiques selling unique, high-quality products. You can buy from as many boutiques as you like, simply adding each product to your shopping basket as you go and then proceeding to one easy checkout. Each boutique (or seller) will then dispatch the products directly to you, so you will receive several parcels if you have bought from several sellers. Most sellers will dispatch a product within 48 hours of receiving your order, unless a product is made to order in which case that will be stated on the product page.

Payment

We use PayPal, the safer, easier way to pay online. The service allows you to pay in any way you prefer, including through credit cards, without sharing financial information. For more information about PayPal's security measures, visit www.paypal.com.au.

Delivery

Each hardtofind. order is shipped directly from the seller that designed, produced or imported it. As such, delivery methods and times will vary from seller to seller. It is entirely up to the seller’s discretion as to the method of delivery they use (within Australia or otherwise). Most sellers will dispatch a product within 48 hours of receiving your order, unless a product is made to order in which case that will be stated on the product page.

Delivery charges

Australia:
Most of our sellers offer FREE shipping Australia-wide, however some may charge a small shipping fee for certain items or orders. If a product is delivered FREE this is clearly displayed on each product page, otherwise the fixed shipping cost is displayed.
Overseas:
Overseas shipping is coming soon!

Delivery times

Unless otherwise specified on the product page, all items will normally ship within 1-2 business days of receipt of your order. If you live in Australia, you can expect your order to arrive within 1-5 days*, sometimes sooner. Orders shipped to overseas destinations may take 3-10 days*. If the item is hand-made to order, you can expect a longer delivery time of up to 4 weeks (please check the product page for details).

Returns and refunds

If you wish to exchange or return an item, please contact us using the ‘Contact us’ link at the bottom of each page
 
You may return a product that you have purchased if the product is faulty, different to how it was described or shown, or you otherwise have a right to return the product under any applicable law.
 
If an item arrives faulty, you must inform us within 14 days of receipt of the order. Once you have done so, hardtofind. will respond to your request and the appropriate seller will provide you with a stamped, self-addressed post pack in which to return the item. Once the faulty item is received, you will be offered a full refund or store credit, whichever you prefer. Any refunds will be made to your credit card (via PayPal) or PayPal account.
 
If you change your mind on a purchased item, you will be given a store credit to the same value once the item has been received by the appropriate seller, and any shipping costs incurred will not be refunded. A change of mind on a hand-made to order item will not be exchanged or refunded.
 
All items being returned must not be affected by being used in an abnormal way, or reduced in value by delay on your part.
 
If for any reason a product you have ordered is not available or out of stock, we will also refund you via PayPal or offer you a store credit to the same value, and in this case any shipping costs will be refunded.

The best part about our job is hunting for those gorgeously unique products that you often find in a stylish magazine, a cool new design store, a tucked-away boutique or whilst browsing a groovy urban market. The sellers we’ve selected were all found this way, and each one of them brings something special to hardtofind. because (apart from their fabulous products) each one of them is as passionate about their business as we are.
